Swim Team will introduce your swimmer to the exciting and interesting sport of competitive swimming. Swimmers will be given the opportunity to be members of a team that regularly competes in meets across the state of Nebraska as well as South Dakota and Iowa. Swimmers will learn the value of being a member of a team, sportsmanship, self-discipline, healthy habits, confidence, cooperation and knowledge of the sport of competitive swimming all under the direction and supervision of Christian leadership.
TO BE ELIGIBLE TO JOIN THE SWIM TEAM, SWIMMERS MUST:
1. Be a current member of the Norfolk Family YMCA and continue membership throughout the season.
2. Be at least 6 years old and pass the following required skills:

Be able to swim two (2) lengths (50 yds.) of the YMCA swimming pool.

Back kick one (1) length (25 yds.) of the YMCA swimming pool.

Submerging oneself underwater comfortably.
-
Be willing to follow Coaches directions.
TRY-OUTS
September 5-November 9 is your opportunity to “try-out” Norfolk Family YMCA Aquajet Swim Team with no obligation to join. Your “try-out” experience will be much more productive if Aquajet Swim Team Coaches are prepared to work with a prospective new swimmer. So, please give prior notice to the Norfolk Family YMCA Aquatics Director, Dylan, (402-371-9770) if you plan to attend “try-out” week. At the end of the “try-out” week, you will be asked to make a formal application to join the Norfolk Family Aquajet Swim Team providing your swimmer/s have passed the skills assessment.

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
Private swim lessons offer one-on-one instruction for anyone trying to improve their skills to join the Aquajets Swim Team. These lessons are 30 minutes long. The child will be taught by Sharon Harthroon who is an Aquajets Swim Team Coach.
