Y Kids Club
2017/2018 School Year
Enrollment for the 2017/2018 School Year is OPEN! Get the paperwork and parent handbook from left of this page or from the Y Welcome Center. Enrollment paperwork is due asap (was due July 24, 2017, but we're still accepting enrollment). Please do not wait to turn in paperwork the week school begins. Note: The YMCA building will be closed Wednesday-Friday, August 16th - 18th, the week of school, however, we will still provide before/after care when school begins on Thursday, August 17th, 2017. Registration for Week #1, Aug 17-18 is due by Wednesday, August 9th. A $10 late fee does apply if you are late registering.
Enrollment is ongoing throughout the entire school year, so you may enroll your child in the program at any time. Kids Club Enrollment Packets are available at the YMCA or you can print your own (see left). Enrollment fee is $25 per child, per school year. This packet includes all required paperwork to begin the Y Kids Club program, program rates, policies & procedures, and the Parent Handbook. This Enrollment Packet must be completed the week before your child is able to attend the Y Kids Club program.
Y Kids Club is a state licensed school aged child care program offered in the following Norfolk Public Elementary Schools in Norfolk, Nebraska – Bel Air, Jefferson, Montessori at Lincoln, Westside, and Woodland Park.
Y Kids Club provides Before and After School Child Care at the schools. Before Care begins as early as 6 am until school begins, and After Care begins as soon as school is dismissed until 6 pm. Y Kids Club is also available from 6 am – 6 pm at the YMCA on School Out Days, Holiday Break Days, Snow Days, and Summer (Day Camp) – these days are open to anyone in grades K-6th; child does not have to be in the Y Kids Club program to participate.
Monthly Calendars are always available at each Kids Club location, the YMCA Information Center, and on this webpage. Please note the days your child comes to the Y for swimming and other activities!
See the Winter Weather flyer to the left for more information about late starts, snow days, and early dismissals.
A Typical Day in Kids Club
In the mornings, children can choose from a variety of fun activities to do before being dismissed to class; board games, Legos, coloring, gym games, etc. In the afternoons, children are served a snack, followed by homework/quiet time, and then the rest of the afternoon is filled with free time, group games, crafts, and/or outdoor play time. On Wednesdays, certain Kids Club schools are picked up by the YMCA bus and transported to the Y for a Swim Day! We're typically in the pool from 3:00-3:45 pm. Each School swims about once per month. In the afternoons, you can pick your child up at any time. Program ends at 6:00 pm.
