2017 Summer Day Camps
Day Camp, River Camp, & Outdoor Camp
Information for ALL Camps
Enrollment is now OPEN for the 2017 summer camps!! Once Enrollment paperwork is submitted to our Welcome Center, registration for Day Camp, River Camp, and Outdoor Camp is available in-house or online. The Enrollment packet is on the left for you to print, or you may pick one up from the YMCA. One per child must be submitted. Please read over the Parent Handbook because there is a lot of information that will be helpful.
Space is LIMITED each week. Enrollment is available on a first come, first serve basis. All fees must be paid for by Wednesday (COB in-house/midnight online) the week before Camp or a $10 late fee will be charged (1 late fee per family). Each child receives one (1) T-shirt per camp. Register early! These policies apply to Day Camp, River Camp, and Outdoor Camp.
The YMCA Day Camp is for children entering K through 6th grades in the Fall 2017. Day Camp provides an incredibly adventurous summer full of games, arts and crafts, swimming, weekly field trips, and fun! This program will include activities that will challenge your child to develop physically, mentally, and socially. Youth are placed into two age appropriate groups for daily activities (9 am - 3 pm) as follows: Grade K-age 6 & ages 7-11. Some field trips will be attended together. Most will be taken on Thursdays.
Dates: May 30th - August 11th, 2017
Times: 6:00 am - 3:30 pm (After Care is available from 3:30-6:00 pm, see below for more details)
Main programming will be done between 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. All children should plan to attend during these hours, Monday - Friday.
Member: $100/week (*Wk #1-$80, **Wk #6-$60)
Non-Member: $125/week (*Wk #1-$100, **Wk #6-$75)

River Camp is offered at the Kiwanis Camp for 3 weeks throughout the summer. This camp is open to boys and girls, ages 7 to 13 only. In addition to swimming, nature walks, frog catching, sand castles, and crafts, children will participate in archery and Laser Tag. We'll end Friday with a hot dog roast, a parent visit, and an overnight stay at the YMCA! This letter will be sent home in the middle of the week, explaining Friday's all day activities. Don't let your child miss out on this fun experience!!

More information about Friday's activities will be sent home in the middle of the week, as well as sent in the weekly email prior to camp.
One week of summer fun for your little “outdoorsman!” This camp is open to boys and girls, ages 7 to 13 only. Something fun and different every day! Places we’ll visit may include Gilman Park in Pierce, Willow Creek near Pierce, Ta-Ha-Zouka Park in Norfolk, Skyview Lake in Norfolk, and Maskenthine Lake north of Stanton. The week’s activities will include nature walks, swimming, crafts, exploring, fishing, sightseeing on Norfolk’s Cowboy Trail, and many other outdoor activities such as forestry, wildlife appreciation, exploring nature, and more! The week will end with a big hot dog roast at Maskenthine Lake! This will be a week of adventure you won’t want to miss!

After Care is provided from 3:30 - 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Youth can participate in Day Camp, River Camp, or Outdoor Camp and remain with the staff until 6:00 pm. If you are late picking up your child (6:00 pm), a fee of $1 per minute must be paid at the time of pick up. Weekly attendance must be received and paid for by Wednesday at midnight the week before camp or there will be a $10 late fee (1 late fee per family). If your child is picked up after 3:30 pm, and you have not paid for After Care for that day, a daily After Care charge will be added to your YMCA account and the balance must be paid before registering for additional programs. To avoid additional charges, please plan to pick up your child between 3:00-3:30 pm.
