We have many programs for the Active Older Adult! We are excited to offer a variety of particular programs and offerings!
Senior Strength and Stretch Program
Program begins Tuesday, June 6th - Thursday, June 29th
This 4 week small group Personal Training program will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:15 AM until 12:15 PM upstairs on the Wellness Floor. Certified Personal Trainers will demonstrate proper technique and lifting form for all strength training machines and other exercises to be performed. In each session, the participant will complete a strength training circuit designed and monitored by the Personal Trainers. The Free Motion machines, Technogym machines, Cable Crossover machine, dumbbells, and barbells will be utilized in this program. Each session will finish with a brief stretching period. Strength training and flexibility are crucial components of a well rounded fitness program!
Fee: $16 (That’s $2 per session for Group Personal Training!)
Age: 55+ year old males and females
Register at the Welcome Center by Tuesday, June 6th to reserve your spot for this wonderful opportunity to feel confident on your own on the Wellness Floor at the end of this training!
A great way to get moving and stay healthy! You'll have so much fun you won't even realize that you are working on balance, agility and coordination! Don't know anything about pickleball? That's okay, someone will be there to teach you! Check out the pickleball rules and information sheet below or pick one up at our Welcome Center.
Read up a little on the rules and join us Monday, Friday & Saturday mornings at the Y Tennis Center, located at 407 N 18th Street.
The tennis center has better lighting (less glare), the ball bounces better and you don't have to chase the ball as far as in a regular gym! The mornings will be cooler but please keep in mind the Tennis Center does not have air conditioning (there are large fans that move the air around) and there are no bathrooms at the facility so please plan accordingly.
Free for members! Members - bring a local friend or two as a guest up to 2 times to share the fun! Local Non-member? No problem. . . . .come try it 2 times for free!
SilverSneakers group exercise classes are appropriate for active older adults who are fit and active as well as those who are sedentary, intimidated, unfamiliar with exercise, entering post-rehabilitation programs and ALL those who enjoy a positive, upbeat social environment! SilverSneakers land classes are included with your YMCA membership! So, since you don't have to pay anything extra, we better see you in class!!!
We currently offer The SilverSneakers Classic on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:00 - 10:50 am.

Foundations of Movement
Based on the training and inspiration of Gary Zobol who currently has Parkinsons and was bedridden, but now teaches many Parkinsons Classes at the YMCA in Boulder, Colorado! This class is specific to the population suffering from neurological disorders, such as MS, Parkinsons, RA, Fibromyalgia, etc. It will be a safe exercise environment with goals of increasing range of motion, improving strength and balance, and socializing with individuals with the same limitations.
Class is offered Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00-2:00 pm
Y Social Events
Fun, fellowship, and door prizes!!!
All Y members are welcome to attend any monthly Y Social Event! Bring a covered dish to share with staff and other Y members to our monthly pot lucks. Meet new people or talk with old friends. Come and visit with the staff and learn more about the Y from their perspective, they are very passionate about where they work! Maybe that person who you pass by in the halls of the Y and say Hi to or workout next to in a group fitness class will be there! ...or better yet ask them to join you!
